Dr. Sitanshu Sekhar Kar

Position: JIPMER, Puducherry.

Sitanshu, a public health specialist and a notable medical educator, is currently heading the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry.
He has been awarded with FAIMER Fellowship [2012-14] from PSG FAIMER Regional Institute, Coimbatore and he is a Fulbright-Nehru Academic Professional Excellence Fellow (FN-APE) at USC Institute for Global Health, Los Angeles, California, USA
He has 160 articles, one book, and 25 chapters to his credit.
He has secured multiple awards including the Best Research Paper at the 1st World NCD Congress, 2017 Organized by World NCD Forum at PGIMER, Chandigarh
He had been the associate dean (research) at JIPMER from 2016-2020
He is a member of various committees and task forces
In addition to his profound expertise in public health, he has an inquisitive passion for medical education and is a member of the NTTC core group faculty since 2012. He has conducted a multitude of faculty development programs and played a role in revising the curriculum.
