Dr. K.R Sethuraman
- K.R. Sethuraman, a celebrated meducal educationist. is an alumnus of JIPMER of the 1966 intake, the first batch selected through a national entrance examination. Following his MD in Medicine at JIPMER he pursued Cardiology at the Chitra Institute at Thiruvananthapuram. He joined JIPMER faculty as a Lecturer in Medicine in May 1981 and worked for nearly 25 years. He was inducted as a resource person to NTTC in 1986 and later was made its Project-Officer from 1996-2006. He successfully completed PG diploma in Higher Education of IGNOU in 1997.
- He took voluntary retirement from JIPMER in 2006 to join AIMST University in Malaysia as the Dean of Medicine for the next 7 years. During this period, he supervised the creation of a state of the art Clinical Skills Centre and guided research work on the learning styles among Malaysian students and on SOLO taxonomy which resulted in much cited publications.
- In 2013, he returned to India to be the Vice Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth at Pondicherry. During his tenure of 5 years, the deemed University was awarded A-grade by NAAC. In 2018, he returned to AIMST University as the Dean of Medical faculty where he worked till his full retirement from deanship.
