It is with immense joy and pride that We welcome you all to Meducon 2026, a landmark gathering that brings together the brightest minds and bravest hearts in medical education. The theme “Catalysing Change in Medical Education: Engaging with Critical Issues” is not just a call to action, but a reflection of our shared commitment to shaping a future where medical education is responsive, inclusive, and transformative.
As we convene here in JIPMER, Puducherry, we stand at a historic crossroads. 2026 marks the Golden Jubilee of the National Teacher Training Centre (NTTC), a visionary initiative that began fifty years ago at JIPMER with the audacious goal of reimagining how we teach, learn, and lead in the health professions. NTTC has since evolved into a vessel of innovation, nurturing generations of educators who have gone on to influence medical education across India and beyond.
This Jubilee is not merely a celebration of longevity, it is a tribute to legacy, leadership, and learning. NTTC’s pioneering efforts in faculty development, curriculum reform, and educational research have laid the foundation for the very conversations we will engage in over the next four days. From identifying critical gaps, deep dive into the issues and to Translating Knowledge into action and future gazing, Meducon 2026 invites us to confront the critical issues that define our times.
Let this conference be a space where ideas are not only exchanged but ignited. Where we challenge norms, embrace complexity, and co-create solutions that resonate with the realities of learners, educators, and communities. Let us honour NTTC’s legacy by daring to imagine what the next fifty years of medical education could look like and by committing ourselves to the hard work of making that vision real.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we extend a warm welcome to each one of you. May Meducon 2026 be a celebration of courage, collaboration, and catalytic change.
Thank you and let the conversations begin.
